Miami-based Royal Caribbean International is poised to get a fourth ship in its new Quantum-class of vessels.
Parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has announced an agreement with German shipyard Meyer Werft to order a new Quantum-class ship that would be delivered in 2019.
The new ship order is a reflection of the success of the first two vessels in the new class — Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas — which have received “remarkable” response from travel agents and travelers.
Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas arrives in Southampton, England on April 15, 2015 ahead of its naming ceremony. The ship will sail Europe in the summer before moving to Cape Liberty in Bayonne, N.J. in the fall.

Emma Wilby, the Anthem of the Seas godmother was at the quayside to welcome her in. Royal Caribbean’s newest and most technologically advanced ship Anthem of the Seas arrives in Southampton, Wed 15th April, 2015, where she will be named on Tuesday. In addition to being served drinks by robot bartenders, guests will be able to drive dodgems, learn circus skills, dine in the 18 onboard restaurants and enjoy spectacular ocean views from 300ft above the sea in the North Star viewing pod.

The third Quantum ship — Ovation of the Seas — is currently under construction at Meyer Werft.
Royal Caribbean officials have said the Quantum-class ships offer several new “firsts-at-sea” and “game-changing” features such as a simulated skydiving experience called RipCord by iFly, and North Star, a jewel-shaped capsule that transports guests more than 300 feet above the ocean and over the ship’s sides offering 360-degree views.
They also feature SeaPlex — dubbed the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea — with bumper cars, roller skating and other activities such as a circus school with flying trapeze and a full-size regulation basketball court.
The latest Quantum-class ship order is contigent on financing and other contract terms, Royal Caribbean said.
