Fincantieri and Virgin Cruises: deal almost done?

According to Italian media, Virgin Cruises andFincantieri would be almost closing a contract, the value of which is not yet known, for the construction of two cruise ships. For Fincantieri it would be a resounding affirmation on competition of Meyer Werft, obtained, according to the same sources, thanks to much better economic conditions.
The planned investment by the Branson, at the time, was 1.6 billion euro for two ships of 170,000 tons.
The problem for Fincantieri is the lack of valuable slots in the Monfalcone shipyard, given the recent mega order of Carnival.
